Rebates
Medicare/Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plans
At Triple L, all our practitioners are registered providers with Medicare and have a Medicare Provider Number. Whilst we generally don’t provide bulk-billed speech pathology or audiology services for children, partial Medicare rebates may be available with a valid written referral from a medical practitioner.
Please note that most GP referrals are valid for 12 months only. After this time, a new referral will be required to continue accessing Medicare rebates.
Medicare rebates are available if you have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan from your GP, to assist with partial payment of your account. A CDM Plan will allow you to claim for 5 sessions which can be used for assessment or therapy (reports are not covered, and need to be paid for in full). Please discuss this with your paediatrician or GP to see if your child is eligible for a CDM Plan. Partial rebates may also be available for some audiology services with a written referral from a medical practitioner e.g. GP or Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.
We ask that you please notify us prior to your appointment if you intend to claim through Medicare, and email your audiology referral or CDM Plan to us before your appointment. Full payment is required on the day of the session via debit or credit card. Once payment has been received, a receipt will be emailed to you, which you can then use to claim your rebate directly from Medicare.
Private Health Insurance
Depending on your Private Health Fund, you may be eligible for a rebate for your assessments, reports and therapy. Please check with your health insurer for the rebate amounts. We are happy to provide the codes required if needed. Please note that no referral is necessary if claiming through your Private Health Fund.
The practice does not deal directly with Private Health Care Insurance Companies. Please therefore kindly note that settlement of the account is to be made directly with the practice on the day of the session via a debit/credit card transaction. Once payment has been received, a receipt of payment will be emailed to you that can then be used to claim back from your Private Health Care Insurer. Please could you kindly advise the practice when claiming from Private Health Care as varying procedural codes and information are required in the invoice.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
If you are accessing NDIS funding for your child’s appointments, please advise us of this before attending your first appointment. NDIS funding can be used for assessments, reports and therapy.
Please note that the practice is not an NDIS provider. Should you wish, therefore, to claim from NDIS, you will need to do so using self-managed NDIS funding, whereby payment is made directly to the practice and then claimed back from your child’s NDIS self-managed fund.
Cancellation Policy
Sickness: Should your child be sick, a cancellation fee will not be charged, however, we kindly request that you provide us with as much notice as possible so that there is sufficient time to allocate your child’s appointment time to another child, where possible.
Should a cancellation for any alternative reason to sickness be made within 48 hours, there will be no charge. Should a cancellation be made within 48 hours prior to your child’s therapy slot, this will incur a cancellation fee of 50%. Any session that is missed without having informed the therapist prior to the session, will be charged at the full therapy session rate.
